Fancy a day in the bay?
Sugarfoot Stomp will be strutting our stuff in the Island Bay Festival Street Parade then dancing up a storm at the Variety Show at the band rotunda.
Dress up in your finest vintage rags or the Sugarfoot Stomp brand for a fun community event!
Here are the details for the day:
Parade:
Sugarfoot Stomp is in Section 2 of the parade behind Island Bay Childcare Centre (in a vehicle) and in front of Toolbox Parenting.
1:30 pm Meet outside 5 Avon Street (North Side)- look for the flag
1:45 pm Everyone in position for the parade
2 pm Parade begins
2:30 pm Parade ends at Shorland Park where the opening ceremony begins.
Variety Show:
3:10 pm Performers assemble outside band rotunda.
3:30 pm Swing Dance Demonstration to the public
We encourage everyone to stay after the parade and join in as we will have a song of social dancing demonstration and the shim sham as well as the solo performances from the Sugarfoot Stomp Performance Troupe. The order of dances will be posted soon.
We will be performing on the concrete in front of the band rotunda. It is quite a long space so spread out!
